FAQs

How would you describe your style?

My first and foremost goal is to tell your story in a warm and honest manner so that your photos instantly transport you back to a specific time and place. For me, that means creating a strong sense of space in your gallery, with a focus on timeless portraits, candid laugher and stolen glances, beautiful light and all your important details. Film plays a big role in the style of my work; I look for natural and organic settings, clean light and fresh colors. I have a fine art approach to storytelling, and love to create work that is simple, airy and genuine.

What sort of equipment do you use?

I am a hybrid shooter, which means I’ll use film and digital cameras on your wedding day. For digital, I use full-frame professional Nikon cameras. For film, I’ll generally bring my beloved medium-format Contax and Hasselblad cameras, and occasionally shoot a few rolls of 35mm. I always bring backup equipment as well!

Do you have business insurance?

Elizabeth LaDuca Photography is fully insured. Having business insurance is often required to work at many wedding venues and reception sites.

You say you’re a natural-light shooter - does this mean you won’t take photos at night?

I love natural light for all the richness, depth and mood it brings to your day. That said, some of the most important moments of your wedding will happen after the sun has gone down! I always bring off-camera lighting setups for your reception, and can create beautifully light photos no matter the time of day.

Do you travel for weddings?

I’m based in Boston but frequently travel throughout New England, along the East Coast and internationally. I love to explore!

How long will it take to get our collection back?

Your fully curated digital collection, which includes scans from the film shot on your day, will be ready to see in 4 - 6 weeks!

Do you work with a second photographer?

For most weddings, I work on my own or with an assistant as I prefer to be able to blend unobtrusively into the background for much of your day. For certain timelines it does make sense to have a second photographer, in which case I have a select group of professionals that will shoot along side me.

Do you photograph family sessions?

I love to work with couples throughout the many stages of life. Families are so much fun to work with! I approach family sessions in a similar manner to weddings. I like to tell the story of here-and-now through beautiful light, color and candid interaction. We’ll of course be sure to capture a few formals for you, but the rest of your session will consist of laughing and playful interaction. Please inquire for more details about family sessions

How do we book you for our day?

Please send me a message through the contact form with some details about your wedding plans! Then we’ll jump on a quick call to chat through details, and I’ll send over your package information and contract. To reserve your date, I require a one-third retainer.

What does your role look like in our day?

I have a very organized approach to wedding photography. I truly believe that unscripted, organic moments full of emotion are so important, and in order to capture those for you as they unfold, it is of the utmost importance to be organized heading into your wedding day. We’ll start working on your timeline about a month before your big day. I’m always happy to provide advice about timing, order of events, and to work with your planner to ensure all your vendors are on the same page. We’ll come up with a list of your family formals, any details you want to ensure are captured, and everything that is going to be special and unique about your day. This way, on your wedding day you’ll be able to relax, enjoy and be fully-present in every big moment knowing that I’ll keep everything running smoothly!
